I was brought onto this project as a technical game designer, where I owned multiple game systems, mechanics, and POI designs from the prototype phase to post launch content updates. I worked alongisde several other game designers, as well as multiple other disciplines (art, ui/ux, VFX/SFX) to design and implement gameplay features that I had ownership over.
As a technical designer, I was also the main point of contact on several gameplay features and systems, acting as a bridge between design and engineering for more technically involved features and mechanics. This responsibility would involve scoping out the asks & time requirements of new features, helping other designers understand what system we had, what was possible with our existing tools, and roping in either engineering, or other disciplines, into conversations when their expertise were required. Additionally, I also assist in improving our pipelines, creating in-editor tools, work flows, or documentation + videos on existing tools / systems.
As I had experience working with many of our game systems, I was also acting as design support on features that would require additional support in order to ship, and would also help takeover work for teammates who would be absent for an extended amount of time.
